LESSON FIVE

It is suggested that before you read this lesson that you gather together the ‘setting’ for the lesson, just as we do in the classroom: a small vase of flowers, of different variety, or even leaves and berries - what matters is that they be fresh. I once used a bowl of silk flowers because I had nothing in the garden, and I quickly realised that they did not have the same impact, for there was no LIFE in them! Also some feathers, stones, or crystals, a few shells. This is a lesson about AWARENESS and APPRECIATION. Spend time studying their shape and form, ideally with a nature track playing in the background.

Here are two extracts from books which are very relevant to this lesson:

YOU NEVER SEE THINGS AS THEY ARE, YOU ALWAYS SEE THEM AS YOU ARE. YOU DON’T BELIEVE WHAT YOU SEE, YOU ACTUALLY SEE WHAT YOU BELIEVE.

(From ‘Morning has been all night coming.’ – John Harrichan)

ON ILLUSION:

IT IS NOT WHAT WE SEE WITH OUR EYES OR HEAR WITH OUR EARS WHICH IS UNREAL, BUT IT IS OUR OPINIONS, JUDGEMENTS AND DECISIONS ABOUT THESE THINGS THAT CREATE ILLUSION. (Sai Baba)

*

This week’s topic is on AWARENESS. Mankind on the whole is very unaware. He perceives only his own small world and the people in it that affect him directly. He is possessed by his own thoughts and feelings, and judges the rest of his world by his OWN yardstick.

Not only are we influenced by our parents, teachers and associates, but also by the media, the church, and other bodies of authority. All these people see the world THEIR way, judge what is right or wrong by THEIR beliefs, then they push this hotchpotch of information on US. Then we judge the rest of the world by our OWN yardstick: he’s richer than ME; she’s fatter than ME; he’s more brainy than I am – and so it goes on and on. No wonder the world is in such a mess!

The following  information from the Phil Donahue Show was distributed to Christian churches in our area, and a copy came our way; the lady who gave it to us thinking that if we could make our classes aware of this, the more people who boycotted these goods, the better:

IMPORTANT NEWS. IN REFERENCE TO THE PHIL DONAHUE SHOW.

AS WE ALREADY KNOW ON 1st MARCH 1990 THE PRESIDENT OF PROCTOR AND GAMBLE APPEARED ON THE PHIL DONAHUE SHOW, HE ANNOUNCED THAT DUE TO THE OPENNESS OF OUR SOCIETY, HE WAS COMING OUT OF THE CLOSET ABOUT HIS ASSOCIATION WITH THE CHURCH OF SATAN, HE STATED THAT A LARGE PORTION OF THE PROFIT FROM PROCTOR AND GAMBLE PRODUCED GOES TO SUPPORT OF THE CHURCH.

WHEN ASKED BY ME, PHIL DONAHUE, IF STATING THIS ON PUBLIC TELEVISION WOULD HURT HIS BUSINESS, HE REPLIED “THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH CHRISTIANS IN THE WORLD TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

IF YOU ARE NOT SURE ABOUT THE PROCTOR AND GAMBLE PRODUCTS LOOK FOR THE SYMBOL OF THE RAMS HORN WHICH WILL APPEAR ON EACH PRODUCT BEGINNING APRIL 1. THE RAM’S HORNS  WILL FORM THE NUMBERS 666 WHICH IS KNOWN AS SATAN’S NUMBER. (on reading this I thought it was an April Fools joke, but when I went and looked at my bottle of Oil of Ulan, there it was!)

CHRISTIANS SHOULD REMEMBER THAT IF THEY BUY ANY OF THESE PRODUCTS, THEY WILL BE CONTRIBUTING TO THE CHURCH OF SATAN. INFORM OTHER CHRISTIANS ABOUT THIS. STOP BUYING PROCTOR AND GAMBLE PRODUCTS AND LET’S PROVE THERE ARE ENOUGH CHRISTIANS TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

ALSO ON A RECENT MERV GRIFFIN SHOW, A GROUP OF CULTISTS WERE FEATURED OF WHICH ONE WAS THE OWNER OF PROCTOR AND GAMBLE. HE SAID THAT HE HAD TOLD SATAN THAT IF HE WOULD HELP HIM PROSPER THEN HE WOULD GIVE HIS HEART AND SOUL TO HIM. HE THEN GAVE ALL THE CREDIT FOR HIS RICHES AND SUCCESS TO SATAN.

A contact address was enclosed, also a list of Proctor and Gamble products, and the reader was asked to make copies and ‘tell your friends’ – “LETS MAKE A DIFFERENCE.”

EXODUS 22:18 THOU SHALT NOT SUFFER A WITCH TO LIVE. DO NOT SUPPORT THEM TO LIVE BY CUTTING OFF THEIR LIVELIHOOD.

We asked Spirit about this, and the answer we got was that we should think of everything in terms of ENERGY, not money and goods; and to think of POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE FORCES, rather than God and Satan.

So, for people to react in a fearful way towards this, with their feelings of adding to Satan’s power if they bought the products – as far as the Satanic Church is concerned, the money means nothing – the NEGATIVE ENERGIES that were created is just what they are after – and so the people are reeled right in!

We were told – “BUY their products, and send them LOVE each time you do – that’s the LAST thing they want!”

ALWAYS look beyond the material side of things to the energies involved, and never ADD to the negative. Therefore the quote from Exodus about cutting off the livelihood of a witch is nothing to do with material things. CUT OFF THE ENERGY that you add to their power with your fear – and they can no longer harm you . It is OUR THOUGHTS ABOUT A PERSON that are harmful to us, NOT THE PERSON THEMSELVES.

The only way to STOP all this is to realise that we are the Being of Light in the physical body that has come here to learn to rise above all that, and in view of what you have just read now understand more clearly Wayne Dyer’s words: ‘The non-spiritual being hates evil and is determined to eradicate that which he believes to be evil.

The Spiritual Being knows that everything that he hates and fights weakens him, and all that he is for, all that he supports, empowers him.’

Once we can grasp the fact that all that happens to us is of our OWN CREATION, caused by our own feelings, which then causes us to be engineered into a learning position with others by our invisible helpers, then we start to see that denying negativity and recognising TRUTH sets us free.

We are a Being of energy, surrounded and permeated by energy, as is EVERYONE on this planet. That energy is there for us to work with to help us in our learning, and every situation – when it is recognised to be a learning process, is transformed into more energy for us as we become aware of that. And so we strengthen ourselves with this learning process.

All lessons from the past are stepping stones which have got you to where you are now – recognise them as that, don’t make the mistake of turning them into stumbling blocks! It is far easier to forgive yourself for past transgressions when you realise that each situation was an opportunity to grow. If partners were involved, it was an opportunity for you BOTH. The following ‘Life’s Lessons’ may help to clarify that for you:

I give thanks to all the people who have played a part in my life, and to all those who will enter it in the years to come.

I thank you for the lessons I will learn from you all, for I know you are all my teachers.

I thank you all for the joyful lessons -  and the painful ones, and I hope I have been a good pupil.

We must thank each other for the joy - and the pain we experienced in the time we spent together, be it long-------------or short.

I give thanks that our paths crossed, as they were meant to do.

I give thanks for the laughter, and the tears, the times of joy we shared, and the battles won and lost, for every experience was a lesson, and I hope – when the lesson was through – I walked away from it a stronger, wiser and more caring person.

I hope if I have hurt you, you will forgive me the hurt I caused, for as you know, lessons are not always easy to learn. But if through all the sorrow, you can find it in your heart to forgive, and to carry on caring for me – if not loving me – then we both will have benefited so much.

Life is full of richness and rewards for us all. There is no failure, just better understanding – for ourselves and others around us.

Go forth in this understanding and reap your rewards.

*

The next step is to FORGIVE OTHERS, and this lovely little poem ‘The Act of Forgiving’ will help you with that:

Life is not always easy living

But God gave you love and the act of forgiving

People sometimes seem unkind

But to their problems we are blind.

We do not know their life’s plan

We should not judge another man.

Just send them thanks and send them love

For they are children of The Lord above.

For everything they say and do

It’s God’s plan - even if it upsets you.

They may be someone you meet passing through

Or they might be family born of you.

God gave you love and the act of  forgiving

You can make your life easy living.

*

This poem really highlights the fact that we don’t KNOW another person’s problems, or their life plan – which could include US. We really do have to give others the freedom to learn their lessons too, and when we do that we help OURSELVES as well as them. The final step is to ALWAYS LIVE IN THE NOW; that way you don’t waste energy regretting or living in the past; you don’t waste energy worrying about the future and what it MAY bring; instead you draw all your energy into the PRESENT and live life to the full – the way we were meant to.

This piece was handed in – author unknown:

THE THREE DAYS OF OUR LIVES.

There are two days in every week about which we should not worry, two days which should be kept clear from fear and apprehension. One of the days is YESTERDAY with its mistakes and cares, its faults and blunders, its aches and pains. YESTERDAY has passed forever from your control. All the money in the world cannot bring back YESTERDAY. We cannot undo a single act we performed; we cannot erase a single word we said. YESTERDAY is gone.

The other day we should not worry about is TOMORROW, with its possible adversities, its burdens, its large promise and poor performance. TOMORROW is also beyond our control. TOMORROW’S sun will rise, either in splendour or behind a mask of cloud – but it will rise, and until it does, we have no stake in TOMORROW, for it is yet unborn.

This leaves only one day: TODAY. Anyone can fight the battles of just one day. It is only when you add the burdens of those two awful eternities – YESTERDAY and TOMORROW – that we break down. It is not the experience of TODAY that drives us mad – it is remorse or bitterness for something which happened YESTERDAY and the dread of what TOMORROW may bring.

Let us, therefore, live one day at a time.

Also a quote from Barbara De Angeli’s book ‘Real Moments’ is also very thought provoking:

YESTERDAY is history,

TOMORROW is a mystery,

TODAY is God’s gift,

And that is why it’s called

THE PRESENT.

May you enjoy it wisely.

When we live completely in the now without wasting our energy, we start to slow down and tune in to the energies all around us. Our contact with the other side gets clearer and clearer. Our awareness of all things is heightened, and, at last, we start to see the true beauty which we are surrounded by. We see the miracles of ourselves and nature and we come into full appreciation of what God has provided for us, and our relationship with Him. We relax into letting go, and letting God. This verse shows you the benefits of this:

LIVE IN THE NOW

If things I want don’t come to me

Then I should know it wasn’t meant to be.

Don’t waste precious time looking behind

For you know God has something else in mind.

When the time is right, and the motive true

God will give these things to you.

Think of the now and the rest of the day

Let go of thoughts of yesterday.

Tomorrow will be a brand new day,

Leave it to God to show you the way.

So don’t live with stress

And your anger vent,

Just know each day is heaven sent.

*

Our Teacher has impressed on us that it is VITAL to live in the now, explaining how we dissipate our energies when we do not 100% focus on what we are doing, therefore only giving part energy to the tasks we do, to the people we interact with. When you really think about it, that is precisely what we do: While we are eating, we are thinking of what we are going to drink. When we are listening to someone speak, we are thinking of what we are going to say when they finish. When we drive the car, our minds are off on all sorts of other things, not really seeing all that is around us, and DEFINITELY not clearing our minds in order for Spirit to communicate with us.

Our guidance one day was to try to live just one hour IN THE NOW. Easy! I thought. I chose one summer evening as I was about to prepare a meal. I looked at the clock and thought, “Here goes…….”

I turned on the tap, the afternoon sun streamed through the water, turning it into liquid crystal! How beautiful! Then as I was washing a lettuce leaf  I suddenly noticed that the leaves have veins on them, just like any other leaf! I had never noticed that before. Next I cut open a tomato – the seeds were yellow! I had always thought of a tomato being all red (been watching too many Heinz ads!) Within thirty minutes this task became exceedingly difficult – my monkey mind wanted to go off in all directions. The last thirty minutes seemed like eternity.

Gradually I could achieve it for the one hour, then one morning, then one evening. Nowadays it is the way I live my LIFE, and I could not imagine it any other way, but it is something you really have to work at.

During the process we planned a holiday overseas for six weeks, the guidance came –“Leave your watches at home” – WHAT!  How could we possibly do that with planes and trains to catch, people to see? However, we gave it a go – and to our delight we found that once we got the hang of it, it got easier and easier. It seemed to re-order our day somehow, and we got right out of ROUTINE, which was precisely what They wanted! We found that we never missed our transport; whenever we NEEDED to know the time, either a public clock presented itself, or else we sat next to someone who wore a large-faced watch. We NEVER had to ask. Messages and prompts from Spirit came in much more clearly now that our minds were less cluttered up. As they explained – “When you wear a watch, your life is capsuled into time slots, and everything is governed by that little thing on your wrist.” TRUE!

When we got back from the trip, I decided to carry on with this method, so I have not worn a watch since 1990. Jim HAD to use his at work, but he at least left it off at the weekend. I found that I was not late for appointments any more – I had been famous for my tardiness! Whenever I got the prompt, I stopped what I was doing (instead of trying to fit in ‘one more job’) and the timing would be perfect.

One day, however, on following the prompt I found when I got in the car that I was running ten minutes late! I stepped on it all the way there, thinking I had misheard my cue. There was no close parking when I got there, so then I had to RUN. I finally collapsed into the waiting room chair – only to find that the person I had to see WAS RUNNING LATE! He came out two minutes later – I was in perfect time (although rather flustered!), but I learned a good lesson. I now knew that my prompts were PERFECT. TRY IT!

You will find that living in the NOW gives you more time. You seem to be able to fit much more into the 24 hours, and there IS time for rest and contemplation. We are MEANT to Take Time…………(another beautiful anonymous verse that was handed in)

TAKE TIME

Take time to think

It is the source of power

Take time to play

It is the secret of perpetual youth

Take time to pray

It is the greatest power on Earth

Take time to love and be loved

It is a God given privilege

Take time to be friendly

It is the road to happiness

Take time to laugh

It is the music of the soul

Take time to give

It is too short a day to be selfish

Take time to work

It is the price of success.

This anonymous piece was handed in recently, it didn’t even have a title, but I think a very apt one would be:

SLOW DOWN

Have you ever watched kids on a merry-go-round

Or listened to the rain slapping on the ground?

Ever followed a butterfly’s erratic flight

Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?

You better slow down, don’t dance so fast

Time is short, the music won’t last.

Do you run through each day on the fly

When you ask, “How are you?”

Do you hear the reply?

When the day is done, do you lie in your bed

With the next hundred chores running through your head?

You’d better slow down, don’t dance so fast

Time is short, the music won’t last.

Ever told your child, “We’ll do it tomorrow

And in your haste, not seen his sorrow?

Ever lost touch, let a good friendship die

Cause you never had time to call and say, “Hi”?

You’d better slow down, don’t dance so fast

Time is short the music won’t last.

When you run so fast to get somewhere

You miss half the fun of getting there.

When you worry and hurry through your day

It’s like an unopened gift. thrown away.

Life is not a race, do take it slower

Hear the music, before the song is over.

Even a simple thing like a vase of flowers can give you great insight when you REALLY look at it:

A VASE OF FLOWERS

On your table sits a vase of flowers

Do you look at them and see their power?

Do you feel the love these flowers bring?

For love of each other is everything.

Each flower has a message of its own

Like us from a single seed is grown

Some are very open with nothing to hide

Some you have to look closely to see inside

Some are tall and straight of stem

As if nothing on earth can hurt them

Others are soft and grow together

And need a little protection from the weather

Some seem to listen to what you say

Others turn their heads away

Some have petals that seem to want to enfold

Some throw themselves open, the world to behold

The depth of colour and scent of these flowers

Show to us all, in them is God’s Power

And if you look closely you will see

His Power is also in you and me

But no matter what these flowers say to you

You feel their love coming through

And even with imperfection, a flower you love

For even this flower belongs to God above

As you accept all the flowers on your table

Accept all living things

For if you are willing – you are able.

This leads us on to………….
LOOK FOR THE TREASURES

Our world is a world full of treasure

It’s full of beauty that gives us pleasure

But we must appreciate the smallest of things

And see the joy that it brings.

A hug, a kiss, a touch so light

Can make everything seem so very right

Just think of the power behind all this

A mother can soothe all with a touch or a kiss

And a loved one’s kiss can make the bells ring

For love for each other is everything

And in times of sickness and sorrow

Strength from a caress from someone we can borrow

The showers of rain that makes things grow

The sun and the moon in the sky that glow

These things are very important to us

But do we think of this as through our lives we rush

The warmth of the sun gives life to the flowers

And a rainbow it gives us in a rain shower

The moon  at nights lights our way

The twinkling stars seem to say

“We are the brightest diamonds of all

Lift your head to us and always walk tall”

A healthy heart in your body beats

It keeps you alive even as you sleep

And if we have a body with good health then our lives are full of wealth

And if our lungs we can fill with fresh clean air

We can live our life free of care.

So always look for the treasures that are given to you

Appreciate them all your life through

For our world is a world full of wealth

They are given with love so enjoy with good health.

The last paragraph of that piece mentions wealth. Our awareness of TRUE wealth opens up our appreciation of life even further:

WHEN I THINK OF WEALTH

What do I think of when I think of wealth?

Do I think of myself happy and in good health?

Do I think wealth is my eyes that allow me to see?

I can look and see the wealth around me.

Do I think wealth is my legs that enable me to walk?

Wealth is my mouth, sweet words I can talk.

Do I think wealth is my home, humble and small?

As in it, I feel loved by all.

Wealth is the laughter, the love and the cheer

Living with people who hold me dear.

Wealth is my garden full of flowers and birds of song

Here I can sit in peace all the day long.

What do I think of when I think of wealth?

Is it the material things that sit upon my shelf?

Is it my body adorned with trinkets of gold?

Or a purse full of money my mind beholds?

If I think with wealth a car and boat can be mine

Then I know I am so very blind.

Wealth is not a money tree,

Wealth is things given free.

A rich man who gives a little money,

Still has plenty of milk and honey,

And in giving, the pleasure will be small.

A poor person who gives can walk tall,

For that they give, they give with love from the heart,

For from their ‘wealth’, never will they part.

We had a wonderful demonstration of this  in our family. Our eldest daughter and her husband moved to Pemberton, a small mill town, where he got a job with the local mill and they rented a mill house. They lived happily there for about a year but then conditions at work began to change: management weren’t actually putting men off, but their working hours were reduced down and down. It finally got to the stage where Sam and Martyn just could not exist on the small wage that now came in, so they had to make the decision to come back to Perth. They had just enough savings to enable them to do this and set themselves up in rented accommodation, and of course, Martyn had to go on the dole while he looked for a job.

That all happened in October, the weeks went by and he got an odd job here and there – for he was willing to do anything - but Christmas was coming at a hundred miles an hour, and still no sign of a permanent job.

Into December now, and the rest of us told them “Please don’t buy any presents for us this year, we understand the situation you are in, and there will be plenty other Christmases, it really isn’t necessary” (meanwhile we all planned to give THEM  as much as we could to help them along). Now my father, who was famous – in the past – for being a real skinflint towards his own, said to me one day, “I’d like to help the kids, but I don’t want to give them money. What do you suggest?” I thought about it, then, “Well, what about a week’s groceries – when you are on the dole that is a big piece out of your allowance.” Sam and Martyn had no children at that stage, but they did have a cat and a dog, and the dog had had nine puppies just before they left Pemberton – all of which made the journey back up to Perth, so that was all extra expense for them in these hard times.

Dad thought this was a good idea so he and I went off to the shops. We tried to think of everything that they would need in a normal weekly shop, plus we included vitamin pills for the Mum dog, who was looking a bit under the weather, and supplies for the pups. There were also a couple of ‘treats’ for Sam and Martyn; a huge block of chocolate and an apple pie. Then we took all the bags round to their house.

As we sat and watched them delving in I also watched Dad’s reactions, I could see that he felt like the REAL Father Christmas right then, and I could not get over the change that was happening to this man. Happening because he was helping someone else – with no thought of return, and I realised that our children’s hard circumstances were also causing some beautiful things to happen to the rest of us; bonding, rallying together, helping. And, unfortunately, it is usually ONLY in times of need that we do that!

Needless to say, on Christmas Day in walked Sam and Martyn with presents for everyone. Small ones, of course, but all THOUGHTFULLY purchased, and we knew that they had had to make great sacrifice in order to be able to do this.

Christmas time can be a joyful time – or a very stressful time. It is tending to become more and more commercial, and very often we lump our family and friends into categories of MONEY; $20 limit for this group, $50 for that group, etc. And look for presents accordingly. Doing that we have lost the essence of Christmas.

That particular year was the BEST EVER Christmas for us all, through their adversity we ALL gained.

And finally, a different awareness of our body and its uses………

GOD’S WORKSHOP

Have you ever thought of your body as God’s Workshop?

In His workshop He has placed all the equipment needed to live life.

First of all we have a heart – a generator to pump and sustain life to all our other tools

We have lungs - to filter the air

We have brains - a computer to store all messages

We have a microphone – our voice, to give the messages.

We have ears - receivers of messages.

We have eyes - torches to light our way.

We have arms - forklifts to enable us to lift.

We have hands - pliers to hold things

We have muscles - vices to squeeze.

Our legs are vehicles for mobility

And feet – the wheels for our vehicle.

We have a skeleton - scaffolding to support our bodies.

Let the output from this workshop be top quality

So as others will keep returning to us

Because what leaves this workshop is God’s perfection.

One night when we were away in Britain I was being shown the lines of a chapter in my third book. It was beautiful stuff about our journey across America. (They give me the contents of the books in this manner – seeing the words falling onto a blank page. It then goes into a deeper level of consciousness, to be brought out again when it is time for me to write  – with no other effort on my part, other than pushing the pen, or tapping the keys. Easy!) Jim was sound asleep beside me, and all the time he quietly puffed and snorted, tweaked and twitched, and it was put to me how REALLY like a vehicle the body is for the true Self. So I picked up the pen and received the following:

Clever is it not, how the Self parks the vehicle (beds the body) for the night. It leaves it parked with the engine running while it slips away to explore and work on outer planes, and the body ticks on – fuel flowing, engine ticking over, gases building and escaping (!!!!!), and you observe that if the ‘machine’ has not been serviced by right thinking, that the blocks become apparent while the body is in repose.

Snoring – the sinuses, perhaps affected by unshed tears. Excess gas by over-fuelling – perhaps a lack of love? So a need for extra fuel? All kinds of reasons Jackie. And so the miracle of the human body goes on and on, observed by few, for all take that wonderful machine entirely for granted. And so it ticks away until the Spirit that turned the key to activate it, turns the key once again to cease the endless workings when there is no further need for that vehicle.

When Jim and I discussed that writing the next day he observed, “Take the spark away – the one that keeps the engine running – and that’s IT.” Our spark of God!

Most of the poems and verse in this lesson were done by a lady in one of our groups, Julie Simmons, who – if you knew her – would be one of the most unlikely people to bring forth such enlightenment. But we ALL have this awareness within us, lying dormant, just waiting to be tapped into. As we develop in resisting the negativity of this planet, the body’s vibrations rise, the energy centres open and energise us, and we make that contact with the other side.

With that contact comes peace and contentment, knowledge and wisdom, for we have tapped into the Universal Energy which is all around us, and we are One with it, with Nature, and with all  people. It is the core of EVERYTHING.

Julie has been my friend for over 30 years now. She is a down-to-Earth Aussie who calls a spade a BLOODY spade. There was a five year gap in our friendship, and when we met again all this ‘Spiritual stuff’ had happened to me. I was almost hesitant about telling her, thinking she would laugh. But a session of Reiki healing convinced her that there was definitely something in this ‘voodoo stuff’, as she called it. She too began to meditate, work on her awareness, and then the ‘miracles’ started happening for her also. She can be sweeping the floor, get the irresistible urge to WRITE, and when she puts pen to paper the most wonderful poems flow forth. She has written hundreds over the years, all of them covering everyday topics; family life, relationships, sickness, death – all of them geared to help people in their coping with life. She gives them away freely; her guidance being never to charge for them. We use them a lot to help people in our classes.

A relative of Jim’s, who used to be a hard-hitting salesman (the type who would sell his granny to get a sale, tee-hee) was absolutely transformed when he discovered the healing path. It is finding our Spiritual Self that melts the mask that we wear in our daily life. Because of the change in this man, many others began to seek as well, reasoning that if HE could do it, then ANYONE could!

WE ALL CAN.

When you achieve that inner peace you will no longer wake up dreading the day – instead you will feel like the author of this piece:

Lovely, complicated wrappings sheath the gift of one-day-more;

Breathless, I untie the package;

Never lived this day before.

Even when YOU have attained that inner peace, others that you know will still be going through their ‘challenges’. I have that framed and it sits right beside the phone, so that when we get news of the latest ‘drama’ it reminds us not to get emotionally drawn in. Instead to say, “Hmm, these are ‘lovely complicated wrappings’ – but I know there’s a gift in it somewhere.” All you have to do is FIND it – it’s there.

FIFTH MEDITATION (U.S. Anderson)

I listen to the voice of the universe as it speaks within me. It is the voice of truth and it guides me unerringly along the paths of my life. Somewhere deep within me, in the perfect bud of my soul, there stands an immobile universe where all things and all law lie revealed. I reach within to this place of peace and quietness. I hearken to the voice of my heart. I close my eyes and sense a living, breathing universe dwelling within me, and I dwelling in it. I am one with all people and all life and all things. I move in accordance with divine law. All the limitless power of creation is mine to draw upon, for it is in me and one with me and I am a part of it. The answer comes with the question; the path is lighted with the first step; the way is cleared with the looking; the goal is in sight with the desire. I know that I am fulfilling the fondest wish of God, for I place myself in His hands, taking each step of my life boldly and strongly, for it is God who prompts me, and God moves with sureness. I see tomorrow for I know today, and this day is father of tomorrow. The things of my life are the children of my thoughts, and my thoughts of today are even now bearing the children of tomorrow. All that is good I desire; all that is evil I refuse to accept.  By attaining, I do not deprive. All that is and ever will be is available to every man; he need only ask and it shall be given. I bind myself to the power for good that surges heavenward all around me. The limits and inhibitions of my past are gone. Each day is a new birth of my soul. Each day is another step on my journey to a oneness with God. I do not seek, I know. I do not strive, I am guided.
