The following is a quote from ‘The Hidden Face of God’ by Gerald.L.Schroeder.
Starting in the early 1900’s science has moved ever closer to the implication that the world we see about us, the objects in our daily lives that we take for granted as being solid, our bodies included, are expressions or manifestations of something as ethereal as energy. And that below the energy lies information, a totally nonmaterial basis for existence. While not calling this information spiritual, science has significantly closed the gap between the material and the spiritual.
It is the job of the scientists to prove to us the existence of things – yet without acknowledging the presence of a God Being: something so intangible – yet present in EVERYTHING – that cannot be PROVED. It is ONLY our acknowledgement of God that will give us the WHOLE picture.
Genesis is a very symbolic book. On the surface it appears to contradict itself and is confusing to read, but once you grasp HOW to read it, it starts to make sense. In this piece I am not going to explain word for word what the Bible says, rather I am pointing out some general guidelines to watch out for – you will receive your own truths as you explore further. It would be helpful to have your Bible beside you to enable clearer understanding.
First it helps to have a knowledge of the esoteric – the hidden side of things. Man is not just his physical body – he stands in an invisible energy bubble and within him are three other bodies: the etheric body, the emotional body and the mental body. He has a partially operated energy system – the chakra system – and it his task while on Earth to fully activate this system.
Man is only one half of who he can be - in a parallel energy bubble wait three other bodies: the Christ Body, the Causal Body and the I AM Body. As the human works through the various earth experiences, gradually turning to the light of awareness, he begins to activate the rest of his chakra system, thus drawing into his energy field those three Higher Bodies. He is attempting to draw his Heaven down to Earth.
Chapter 1 of Genesis describes how God created the heaven and the earth. It would appear that EVERYTHING comes from ‘the waters’:
v2 And the earth was without form and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the water.
v6: And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
v7: And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament; and it was so.
v8: And God called the firmament Heaven.
We have learned from Spirit that the same pattern repeats itself, from the tiniest atom to the vast Cosmos, and that once we understand the human body and Nature we can grasp the rest. Therefore, although verses 1 to 10 describe the formation of heaven and earth, they also describe the stages of creating the human from Spirit i.e. creating the Higher Self – the combination of the Christ, Causal and I AM Bodies, and the lower self of physical, etheric, emotional and mental bodies; the two divided by the neutral rod termed ‘Heaven’. We have also learned that Heaven is A STATE OF MIND – which we will explore on page 2.
When we access the barrier between the two and absorb it the two become one creating
It is explained in ‘Numerology for the New Age’ by Lynn Buess that zero, or the
represents the Higher Self or superconscious. It is the capacity to move awareness to a higher plane for perception.
v5: And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night.
All to do with Light is awareness and all to do with darkness is ignorance of our Spiritual heritage. Strange that God should call the evening and the morning ‘the first day’ – here is our first clue that everything to do with Spirit is the reverse of human laws, for logically ‘the first day’ should be the morning and the evening!
v9. And God said, Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear; and it was so.
So now we have solid form – material things – the conception and birth of the first human.
Verses 21-25 describe how all creatures were created to multiply ‘after their kind’ – yet in v26 God created man in our image, after our likeness. God is Spirit; therefore WE are Spirit – in human form. It also clearly states in verse 27 Male and female created he them. v28: And God blessed them and God said unto them, Be fruitful and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it, and have dominion……
2:3: And God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it; because in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
7 is the number of completion – the rest time of each 7-stage when you pause, look back, assess what you have done and what was achieved before you can move on. All things to do with Spirit in your life run in cycles of 7, whether that be hours, days, months or years.
Chapter 2 is an enigma – in Chapter 1 God has already made man in his likeness and image and told him to multiply – yet here it says v5 there was not a man to till the ground, and suddenly in v7 man is formed of the dust of the ground and the Lord God breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul.
There’s the clue: Lord God, a DIFFERENT being from the God of chapter 1 – who now proceeds to again create in v19 every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air, and finally in v22 made he a woman and brought her unto the man.
Here is a clear definition between the two – a God that made man in his image and a Lord God that made man of the earth – and we, as human, are influenced by both of them: God, speaking to us from within, the Lord God, from without. God
is to do with our perfect Spiritual side, the Lord God to do with our imperfect human side. The Lord God has a role to play, and it is a very positive one – once we understand.
As you read the rest of Genesis be aware of the two influences of God and Lord God on man, and see how the two are skilfully woven into each story, sometimes in the same paragraph. Our task is to eventually phase out the influence of the Lord God (described to us by Spirit as the Dimensional God) so that our complete focus is God – the Omniscient God, the Creator of ALL. In this way man grows into and becomes the image of his Spiritual Self.
It is interesting – and symbolic - that a garden is planted eastward in Eden (2:8). In Shamanism the East is symbolic of new beginnings:
Since the sun rises in the East to herald the start of a new day, this direction is associated with new beginnings. It is also related to the Spring, to new growth and blue skies, and to fortunate and pleasant happenings.
The sun also dictates the colour associated with the East – (Yellow) and the element (Fire). The sun is the centre and nucleus of the Universe; it is our light-giver and our life-giver. The East is associated with the Spiritual Sun – the Great Spirit – at the source of all that is, and with the Spirit Self that is at the source of our individual being. So the East is concerned with the spirit, and with spiritual principles and consideration. It is also involved with enlightenment and illumination – of being able to comprehend what once was hidden in ‘darkness’ or ignorance.
(From ‘Shamanic Experience’ Kenneth Meadows).
The Garden of Eden, Spirit tells us in the following writing, is A STATE OF MIND:
I wished you to learn the simplicity of this before you move on. It truly IS just God and you - but God-in-many-form
There is only one Mind – My Mind, and all that is created from Myself has that Mind within them - in the heart of their being. Each one that is created has the essence of Me, and the potential to BECOME Me. Their minds are lesser than My Mind, and this is so only because certain connections are left undone.
Picture the Monad, the Soul, the Spirit, the human: the mind of each is within the heart. Because of the vibration of the relevant body there is a limit to the energy it can contain; only by opening to Me and freeing themselves of limitation, can they become their full potential.
Yes, Eden is a state of MIND – a Perfected State so beautifully portrayed by the vision of a perfect garden – this EVERYONE can comprehend.
(Then I was shown the various lovely trees, plants, and flowers, animals and birds).
This is why it is vital to look to Nature, observe it and learn what it is telling you about YOURSELF. As you break through your confining shell and reach out to Me, the Infinite, more and more receptors within the brain are reconnected.
(Then I was shown the word ‘brain’ being crossed out and substituted with the word ‘mind’).
I do this to highlight the difference between the two; the brain is merely the sorting box of all that comes to it – directed by Me. It represents your human reasoning, your ability to think, and the sense to survive. It is a necessary part of your human vehicle, but also your greatest enemy as you start to tread the Spiritual Path. TAME THE BRAIN, use it only for its intended function: to reason for you – NOT TO COMMAND YOU.
In Chapter 3 we are introduced to the serpent – who seemingly plays a negative role, tempting Eve to eat of the Tree of Knowledge, despite the Lord God warning for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die (2:17). And see how Eve confuses God and the Lord God in her statement in 3:3: although it was the Lord God who told her not to eat of the tree, she now states that God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. It is very difficult for us to differentiate between the two influences when we are unaware.
It is very apt that the snake is used in this story – here is the North American Shamanic belief (from James Sams and David Carson Medicine Cards):
Snake medicine people are very rare. Their initiation involves experiencing and living through multiple snake bites, which allows them to transmute all poisons, be they mental, physical, spiritual or emotional. The power of snake medicine is the power of creation, for it embodies sexuality, psychic energy, alchemy, reproduction, and ascension (or immortality).
The transmutation of the life-death-rebirth cycle is exemplified by the shedding of Snake’s skin. It is the energy of wholeness, cosmic consciousness, and the ability to experience anything willingly and without resistance. It is the knowledge that all things are equal in creation, and that those things which might be experienced as poison can be eaten, ingested, integrated and transmuted if one has the proper state of mind.
This medicine teaches you on a personal level that you are a Universal being. Through accepting all aspects of your life, you can bring about the transmutation of the fire medicine. This fire energy, when functioning on the material plane, creates passion, desire, procreation and physical vitality.
On the emotional plane, it becomes ambition, creation, resolution, and dreams.
On the mental plane it becomes intellect, power, charisma, and leadership.
When this snake energy reaches the spiritual plane, it becomes wisdom, understanding, wholeness, and connection to the Great Spirit.
This is heavy magic, but remember, magic is no more than a change in consciousness.
So the snake has two aspects: it represents all that is negative in our thinking: need, fear, jealousy, hate, pessimism, etc – all to do with the human way of thinking. Hard work, death, ugliness – these are all HUMAN experiences. However, when they are overcome the role of the snake transmutes to WISDOM. All Light Beings on earth are undergoing the Snake Initiation.
The two trees are symbolic too – the Tree of Knowledge (2:17) and the Tree of Life (3:22), and the Kabala gives us some insight into that. Here is a writing I got about it:
The principle of the Tree of Life in the Kabala is that you descend from the Source – God, to become human, and that humanity has to work its way back through the attributes to merge again with God. The chakra system activation enables you to do this – and so the Tree of Life has ten branches – each to do with the 10-chakra system
(and the four lower bodies).
What happens then? The Christ Body is allowed to enter the energy field, and then the Causal and I AM Bodies to allow the mystical marriage and the Immaculate Conception to take place in order to allow the Divine Man to emerge – WHOSE SEED DWELLS IN THE BODY. No tree was ever created that does not have a seed as its origin. That seed is safely held within the energy field and in the human body by magnetism. It is man’s task to transform himself from a dual polarity energy system to a neutral rod in order for the Tree of Life to be activated.
The Tree of Knowledge, as the serpent said, allows you to become as Gods; knowing right from wrong. Those, of course, are HUMAN understandings; as far as Spirit is concerned NOTHING is right or wrong – all is merely EXPERIENCE. And so eating of the Tree of Knowledge opens your eyes to HUMAN ways, and the discovery and challenge of negative energies.
It is then a long journey, with multiple challenges, before you can BECOME the Tree of Life – life everlasting, with full knowledge of the Spiritual Laws. The Tree of Knowledge is the human mirror image of the perfect tree within the garden – the garden that you are drawing down to superimpose on your earthly existence.
Each man must find his own truth and the understanding of this can only be achieved through EXPERIENCE and much inner work.
In actual fact, as you develop those two trees within your energy system – a third tree is discovered and activated! (More on that in a separate article).
It is clearly shown in Chapter 3 that God and the Lord God have entirely different focus – with which they influence man! At the end of Chapter 1:31 And God saw everything that he had made and behold, it was very good. But in 3:22 And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil.
And so man is driven out of the Garden of Eden (his perfect state of mind), and the Garden is sealed from him ( 3:22 –24).
The cherubim represent the cohorts of the four Archangels who then influence your earthly endeavours as you seek to remember Who you truly are, and to discover and reactivate the Tree of Life. The flaming sword turning every way is the electronic matrix that keeps the kundalini trapped within until the moment is right to release it.
The story of Cain and Abel again shows the influence of the Lord God and the difference in value now between Spiritual gifts and materialism. How negative feelings influence our life circumstances – placing us in ‘the land of Nod’ (4:16) – the Spiritual amnesia that results from that as we become more and more influenced by the Earth’s laws, forgetting our Spiritual Self.
The story of Noah is a fascinating one: the building of the ark is symbolic of how we build our energy field to draw in the upper bodies, thus creating what Mark Prophet terms ‘the Pyramid of Life’. Read it carefully and see how the two Beings speak to Noah – God tells him in 6:10 two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, yet in 7:2 the Lord God tells Noah of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female; and of the beasts that are not clean by two, the male and the female. V3: Of fowls is also of the air by sevens, the male and female. V5: And Noah did according unto all that the Lord commanded him.
God is the one that conducts the flood, then dries it up and gives the instructions on how to start again, yet Noah (8:20), when he finally reaches dry land then builds an
altar to the Lord!
With an understanding of Shamanism what wonderful messages from the Dove and the Raven!
Dove represents PEACE, it is sent out three times – which symbolizes the three stages it takes to attain Divinity.
Raven is a messenger of that which is to come. Expect the unexpected, prepare for plenitude. Raven is the courier of the energy flow that brings about changes and creates new realities. “You have earned the right to see and experience a little more of life’s magic”. Raven is the messenger that carries all energy flows of ceremonial magic between the ceremony itself and the intended destination. For example, if a ceremony is being performed to send energy to a disaster area where people need courage and strength, Raven would be the courier for the energy flow. The intention could be to allow the people of the devastated
area to feel the concern and support of the participants in the ceremony.
(The numbers of days that are quoted in this story are also significant in our Spiritual development – and if you keep a chart of your spiritual development you will recognize these cycles when they occur).
And although God blessed Noah and his sons he clearly states v6: Whoso sheddeth man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed; for in the image of God made he man. In other words, we cannot break the laws of cause and effect – even while under God’s protection, otherwise we suffer the consequences.
The covenant was made (9:15) with God whose token was the bow (9:13), yet in verses 20-16 Noah turns yet again to the human ways and focuses only on the Lord God. This bow – the rainbow - is a sign for us that God will bring us through, no matter what, and that NOTHING is ever DESTROYED – it might change form, but it is never lost. I was given a beautiful writing once based on a photograph that we took of a brilliant rainbow against a black stormy sky:
The promise of the rainbow is that there will always be sunshine after rain, happiness after tears. It shows you too, that there is beauty in the gloom – without the gloom the colours could not appear; without the tears there can be no appreciation of the happiness. You have to experience the extremes in order to find the Balance
The brief story of the tower of Babel shows how the Lord God’s task is to deter us from finding unity for (11:6) Now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. And so division among men is created so that we will not find the strength in Unity – that verse clearly shows us what is possible when we do!
Abraham’s story again shows how we are deceived by the Lord God, and through psychic distractions are led to do untruthful deeds – which can only beget more negativity. As the story progresses he starts to hear both influences in Chapter 14, but the promises of wealth and many children are a strong influence, and following the Lord God’s instruction he now commits adultery – with his wife’s permission – which again results in great negativity.
In Chapter 17 the Lord speaks in verse 1 and God speaks in verses 3 and 4 – but at last, in 18:23-32 Abraham begins to challenge the Lord God. In Chapter 22 he now clearly follows God – even being prepared to sacrifice his only son for him, but discovers that all that was needed was for God to be put first and foremost – even before our family, and in so doing ALL are blessed.
The story of Jacob shows that when we follow God seemingly adverse things can happen to us – but on looking back when all glory has been achieved and all promises fulfilled, we understand there was PURPOSE in those adverse times.
So now you start to recognise the descending of the spirit and the way the human body helps it to ascend again; how all of this is controlled from the unseen dimensions of Earth from your True Self. He is your initial contact when you turn within, the one that raises your consciousness to meet and merge with His (if you are a male – with Hers: the Higher Self is always the opposite energy to the earthly form). The Higher Self in the snake initiation can experience the density of humanness. What the Spirit has created, it is responsible for, so it is in the Spirit’s interest that the human counterpart also be made aware of God. To know God is instantly to be uplifted.
As a human the awareness is only of the self, and it takes great personal work to become aware of its Higher Self. But the Higher Self has full awareness of the two existences.
The names listed in Genesis of all the generations represent the multiplication of the souls with their many Spirit lines, each becoming either a human on the Earth plane or a Spirit on the planes. Each has a role to play in the gathering of energy - all with the intention to help one another in this task.
You have completed your reading at last. Not an easy task! Genesis reveals the way the Higher Self and lower self makes up the whole - the Earth experience being the Snake Initiation in order for you to REMEMBER. The various stories within Genesis illustrate clearly the difference between human law and Universal Law, and finally, the influence of the Lord God to compound the human experience until the turning to the Light. Also the clear message throughout is that FAITH AND TRUST will bring you through.
